Let’s Get Fit: How to Avoid Injury

I’m going to let you in on the biggest secret in fitness: stretching.

I know, you’re thinking, “I know” I know you know. I know. But I don’t do it. At least not nearly enough. But that doesn’t mean we can’t change!

After I run, I do these easy stretches. On both sides.

So, calf, calf, quad, quad. Then forward fold to get the hamstrings. Breathe. I might count to 30 for each one. But the best one of all is the last one. Cross one foot behind the other and forward fold. Hold onto something for balance the first couple of times. You will feel it in the outer butt/hip of the leg that’s in back. Twist toward that side to feel it more.
