Feeling Fall

Autumn is here and i’m loving it. It’s the time of year where I rediscover all my old knitwear (and add a few new ones), switch to closed-toe shoes, and go back to living in jeans. It’s also when the weather turns cool and dry and I have all the good hair days. It’s been about two years since I stopped highlighting my hair and I’m still getting used to the reality that I’m a brunette, not a blonde. The natural dark color has me choosing clothes in black, brown, and cream. I actually love it.

Putting together outfits, something I enjoy doing when the seasons change, helps me figure out how to style what I have in my closet versus buying something new. It also reinforces what my true style is, so if I go shopping, I pick things that I know I’ll wear. This time, I confirmed what I’ve always known: I like jeans and a shirt. Two pieces, not three. Usually comfortable, unfussy pieces. It feels so good when I hit on a formula that works. For me. I don’t need trends or a lot of layering or accessories. Simple is better.
