I can’t stop thinking about trench coats! It happens to me every year. And I swore this time I wouldn’t go back to thinking I needed one and I should have one. I went to the mall recently and tried on a bunch, just to confirm what I already knew: they do not flatter me. And, none of the ones I found wowed me. In my imagination I would look like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast a Tiffany’s. But I did not. So, I let it go. But then I kept looking online. I started to think I might like a trench, and actually wear a trench, if it were cropped. It’s a trend I’ve seen a lot of. You might be thinking, like my husband, that I would “want the length.” I was kidding around with my friend Jennifer that I was desperately looking for a trench coat and she started sending me all the links which might be our love language. Here are the three trench coats I’ve bought in the past, not worn and then donated… and then six I found online that I was considering.
In the end I went with the Michael Kors one. I really like the pleat in the back. You can’t see it in my photo but you can see it on the Nordstrom listing. This jacket is surprisingly warm and I think it will look good layered over sweaters.
